Alessandro Matri is a born predator who provides a constant goalscoring threat in and around the penalty area. After beginning his professional football career with the Milan youth academy, the striker gained first-team football experience with Prato, Lumezzane and Rimini. Cagliari then came calling in 2007, signing Matri on a co-ownership basis.

It was in Sardinia where he really made his mark, displaying all the qualities that encouraged Juventus to swoop for him in January 2011.

Matri’s first full season in Turin was a resounding success, with the striker ending the campaign as top scorer as the Bianconeri marched to their first Scudetto in six years.
